Pingpong Tables

Pingpong tables are a necessary piece of equipment for the increasingly popular game of table tennis or ping pong. You can buy one online, check your local sporting good store, or even buy one used on a local classified ads site. Pingpong tables can be a bit expensive, but the game is exhilarating and rewarding to play for people of all ages!

Unlike some sports which require only a simple thing like a basketball or soccerball to play, pingpong really requires that you learn and practice on real pingpong tables. You can purchase a net which clamps onto your kitchen table, but I don't really recommend it because so much of being an expert pingpong player is using the edges of the table. In order to effectively play the edges, it's important to always use the correct size table so that your brain learns the size of it. If you are constantly switching tables of different sizes, you'll never be able to judge how hard to hit the ball without thinking about it. Even worse, playing constantly on a wrong size table will make it so that when you play with a friend on real pingpong tables, you'll constantly have difficulty because you are not used to a real table!

Everyone who truly wants to become skilled should buy pingpong tables. If you can't afford to buy a real table or don't have the space for it, you still have a few options. Check your local recreational facility to see if they have a table you can use, or there may even be a pingpong club in your area which has tables that can be used by the hour, or for free once you become a member. If you're truly strapped for cash, think about friends who may have pingpong tables that they don't often use, and see if you can borrow one to play with!

Pingpong tables are available at a wide variety of price points, ranging from a couple of hundred dollars up to thousands of dollars. A cheap one will likely not be built using particularly good components, and will probably not last long. A more expensive one will be constructed from high-quality materials and should last you a lifetime. Another benefit to a high-quality table is that it will almost certainly maintain good value and can be sold to someone once you've lost interest in the sport.

Pingpong tables are a critical piece of equipment for playing table tennis and are perhaps the most expensive piece of equipment. Typically a paddle and net will cost you much less. Another idea is to practice with a pingpong dvd in order to improve your game.
