Learn about Garden Tool Storage

Every person who loves gardening knows that gardening tools tend to stack up. It's unsightly to your tool garden tools spread throughout your yard, and there are lot of ways you can deal with garden tool storage.

Perhaps the easiest and most convenient solution to garden tools storage is a small shed located to your garden or yard. A shed is great because it keeps your tools close to where you'll want to use them, but also keeps them out of sight and, just as importantly, keeps them out of harsh weather like rain and snow. You can buy a pre-assembled garden shed at many home improvement stores, or buy a kit online to build one yourself. A small shed is typically a great answer to the difficult question of garden tool storage.

Another popular idea is finding a place for garden tool storage in the garage. This is sometimes difficult and controversial because your tools start to compete with your car for space in the garage. The answer is being smart about your garden garden tool storage and making careful use of closets, shelves and hangers to not only keep the tools organized, but also off the floor and out of the way of your car or whatever else you may use you garage for. Lots of kits are available online in retail stores for adding shelves and hangers to your garage in order to create the perfect organization for your gardening needs.

If you don't have room for a shed and either don't have a garage or prefer not to keep your garden tools in the garage, another option is keeping your tools outside. If possible, find a place where the tools are under cover and won't be rained on - a good spot might be under the eves next to your house. Try to find something to set your tools on so that they are not directly on the ground - this will help to limit their exposure to rust. You can even set up some outdoors shelves next to your house to provide some order to your garden tool storage. IF you expect it to rain, consider putting a tarp on top of your tools to protect them from water since this will excellent their rusting and destruction.

Another thing people don't often think about with their garden tool storage is not storing tools that they don't need or use! If you have three shovels, think about whether you use all of them. Maybe two of them are useful for two different tasks but the third is redundant - consider just getting rid of it in order to make it so that you have a small need for garden tool storage.
