Garage Door Opener Manual

When your garage door open stops working, you should turn to your garage door opener manual. Many people no longer have the manual that came with their door originally, and should therefore search online to see if they can find the manual written by the door's manufacturer.

There are several things that can go wrong and cause a garage door opener not to work. The first thing to check is that the opener has fresh batteries: If you're unsure what kind of batteries it takes, check in your garage door opener manual. If it still doesn't work, check to make sure that the garage door opener is getting power. You can see this by if a light is on or if it's making any noise. If it's not getting power, it may be broken, or the problem may be as simple as a breaker or fuse being blown in your house.

If none of these things work and you've exhausted all the troubleshooting possibilities suggested in your garage door opener manual, it's time to call a repair person. This could end up being expensive, so try to get a reference from a friend who has worked with someone they like, or choose someone who has a reasonable hourly work rate. The best possible option is to contact the guy who originally installed your garage door opener as he may remember how it was installed and may know the particular quirks to the model you have.

When having a new garage door installed, it's a good idea to save the garage door opener manual as this may come in handy if you ever have problems with the door, and may also provide a good reference for a repair person who is not familiar with your particular model of garage door. If you've thrown away your garage door opener manual, it's a good idea to search the internet to see if you can find the manual provided by the manufacturer.
