Buying a School Messenger Bag

School Messenger Bags
These days, being in style is increasingly important for today's students. In the past, a backpack was an important and ubiquitous piece of school equipment and you would see them on the back of practically every student and even a sizable number of teachers and professors too. Increasingly the trendy students recently are buying a school messenger bag instead of the normal back pack. You can find your own school messenger bag at stores found on the internet, or at fashionable stores in your town.
Unlike a backpack which has straps that go over each shoulder and is more of a vertical bag, a school messenger bag is usually a bit different. It usually has a large strap which allows the bag to be worn flat across the back, or to be worn hanging on your shoulder. A messenger bag is also more of a horizontal bag and when you put books, a laptop computer, or papers inside, everything will typically be resting sideways. This means that it's often easier to find things and take stuff out of a messenger bag compared to your typical backpack.
Another difference is that school messenger bags usually don't zip up like a backpack. Instead, they have a large flap which usually fastens down with velcro, and also has buckles to keep it close for long periods. Some people thing that these buckles and velcro make a messenger bag easier to use than a backpack.
Many students believe that a school messenger bag is a more stylish alternative to the normal backpack. Unfortunately there are some downsides to the messenger bag as well. Many students will be carrying several bulky and heavy textbooks for long periods. Backpacks are ideal for this situation because they spread the weight of the books across both shoulders. Messenger bags usually have most of that weight resting on one shoulder or another, and may cause pain or discomfort if you are carrying a huge load of textbooks. If you must have a school messenger bag and a huge load of textbooks, at least try to alternate which shoulder you carry your bag on in order to spread out the stress on your body!
