Black and White Laser Printers

Black and white laser printers are a common choice these days for both businesses and households who want to print out documents at a high rate with a crisp and attractive sense of design and type.  You can buy your own black and white laser printer at most online stores, at local stores carrying printers and other computer accessories or even used at a discount price on a site like eBay or craigslist.

In years past, laser printers were expensive to make and very expensive to buy since they were rare and able to print documents quickly at an amazing level of quality.  These days, they are much more common and we are fortunate enough to be able to buy a compact black and white laser printer at an affordable price that's right for almost any household or office.  For between $100 and $200, you should be able to buy a B/W laser printer that works for most documents you may need.

There's still a place for those inexpensive ink jet printers now that we are in a laser printer world.  A laser printer is great for text documents, and purely black and white images.  An ink jet printer will be much faster to do color prints, and will be able to print out even black and white images that have a lot of different levels of gray at a better quality since it can reproduce a tiny drop of ink than a laser printer can with toner.  You can buy a color laser printer, but they are very expensive and while fast, they still don't offer the same quality of color gradient that you would find on a color ink jet.  A color laser printer would be great for printing out color powerpoint slides or for printing letters using a color logo, but it won't be great for printing out vacation photos or portraits since they simply are not great for photo.

Black and white laser printers are so common these days that if your budget is limited, you should be able to buy one that is just a couple of years old at a significant discount.  When buying one used, it's important to know how much of the toner cartridge is left: it's not easy to fill up cartridges yourself, so it may take  an expensive new cartridge to make a cheap used laser printer work if it does not come with a full cartridge.  Particularly for office and document work, there's really nothing better than a laser printer for printing beautiful text documents at an incredibly high speed.
